Get a tape measure or laser distance meter. You can also download an app (such as RoomScan Pro) that can use your phone or tablet camera to measure your room.
Measure the length and width of the room from wall to wall. You can split complex rooms into smaller, more easily measurable areas.
Multiply the length and the width of each room or area. Add the numbers together to get your total area.
Board widths and lengths do not always perfectly fit your rooms, so always expect to end up with offcuts.
The wastage allowance provides some breathing space in case you make any mistakes while installing.
Leftover boxes can not be returned but can be kept for future repairs or extensions.
